Talk:GNU FM

What's the link?

The http://gnu.io/ link in the article gets me a page which mentions, but is not, GNU FM.

https://gnu.io/fm/ is mentioned but is for developers.

https://libre.fm/ is mentioned but seems a bit crap. If I search for Metallica I get a bazillion results, and the first one which is simply Metallica is utterly worthless in comparison to last.fm's metallica.

Is this some alpha software or indie only or what? Am I doing it wrong?

I don't think this is a good place to discuss it, this being a wiki. To answer your question though, they only have freely-licensed music. That means that those Metallica tracks are probably cover songs. The majority of original content is indie techno pop beats that aren't that good, to be honest. Some are though, like this guy. It still is early on, too, but I would not call it an Alpha. --Se7en (talk) 08:34, 27 February 2016 (EST)
Ok so it's for freely-licensed music. Fair enough. Should we change the opening sentence ("GNU FM is a project created by GNU to provide a free equivalent to Last.fm") to something like "GNU FM is a project created by GNU to provide a freely-licensed music equivalent to Last.fm"? It's both though, and I think the current definition applies to both. --Se7en (talk) 09:33, 27 February 2016 (EST)
