XKCD is a webcomic created by Randall Munroe. The comic's tagline describes it as a "A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language" (formerly a "Stick-figure strip featuring humor about technology, science, mathematics and relationships"). XKCD is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5 License.

XKCD has been criticized multiple times for a variety of reasons. The most common reason is its over-simplistic style that seems armature. Most /tech/ies and /g/uys are against it not because of this but because of the author's siding of the SJWs in Gamer Gate, and a number of comics that express the political ideals of the artist, being very liberal in a way that most people are against. For example, in 2014, a comic was released commenting on Gamer Gate saying that expressing an opinion is fine, but being an ass justifies a ban from places such as Twitter. This comic was modified multiple times to express the feelings of the technology boards, saying "If you can't handle conflicting opinion, go back to your hug box".
