Dnf
Revision as of 20:44, 14 June 2015 by Electronicgentoofoundation (talk | contribs) (shamelessly stole wikipedia content until i can legitimately write this page.)
Shamelessly stolen from Wikipedia because the Fedora article links to this page but this page did not exist.
DNF or Dandified Yum is the next generation version of the Yellowdog Updater, Modified (yum), a package manager for RPM-based distributions. DNF was introduced in Fedora 18 and it is a default package manager for Fedora since the version 22. Perceived deficiencies of yum which DNF is intended to address include poor performance, high memory usage, and the slowness of its iterative dependency resolution. DNF uses libsolv, an external dependency resolver.
