Social Media is a form of Web communication made popular during Web 2.0 that allows users to use services to publish thoughts, ideas, photographs, and so on. It allows users to create personal networks with others using terms such as "followers" and "friends". There have been many social media websites that have come and gone, including Myspace, LiveJournal, and Google+. At the time of writing, the most popular Social Media websites are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube (though some do not consider YouTube a social media website).
